Another cup of tea

pexels-photo-210470.jpegWe love a great cup of tea here at Vintage Rose Catering.  Depending on what you are eating should determine which blend and flavour of tea you drink, just like a good wine with a certain meal.

We can advice our guests what type of tea to drink with their afternoon tea if they wish.

Here is our simple guide based on the last 8 years of serving teas

To accompany our Lemon drizzle, Citrus loaf cakes, Orange cakes and all citrus bakes we usually choose Earl grey – a delicious blend of Bergamot and citrus undertones, it enhances every mouthful.

Whereas if you were enjoying a plain sponge say a madeira cake or an American pound cake a Darjeeling would be nice or a Breakfast blend.

Our afternoon tea blend is lovely alongside our carrot cakes or anything frosted and creamy based.

We stock over 15 regular teas and invite our visitors to taste these during their afternoon tea experience. As with a lot of things we often stick to a favourite but this is a great way of tasting new blends and enjoying ones that you wouldn’t necessarily have purchased before.

Baby Anais Christening

Today, I had the pleasure in helping with the celebrations of Anna and Cuan who were christening their lovely baby daughter Anais and celebrating afterwards in Barlow Village Hall.

The Village hall is a lovely large space ideal for many functions.  Armed with lots of our Vintage fabric bunting, delicious food, borrowed tablecloths, crockery and decorations, we started dressing the room.

Bunting adorned each wall.

The Champagne table was the first to be decorated.  We knew our priorities!

Many tablecloths and a delightful mismatch of borrowed crockery from Anna’s family and friends.  Everyone pitched in. I must say there are many talented people in the family, even the men showed their feminine side, helping to place dainty cakes on the child friendly cupcake stands!

All coming together now

The amazing cookie tree was sourced and assembled by Anna’s Mum.  A beautiful cookie was given to departing guests.  I thought it was a lovely touch.  Anna and her family had found some beautiful things to make the day extra special from hearts and flower pots to little blackboards.

Everyone had a lovely Christening party.  Time for everyone to put their feet up tonight.

Looking forward to another party to dress very soon
